Save $$ at the Ballpark: AL West Teams

Still think you can’t afford to take the family out to a ballgame? Think again! MLB teams are almost begging you to bring the whole family to a game these days. Check each team’s website for family discounts, kids clubs, and other offers. Most of these deals are especially handy for those living in the same city as their favorite team. Sign up for one of these and you’re sure to leave the park with a ton of happy memories, but not an empty wallet.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim:

Junior Angels Kids Club: Not only do the kiddies get two vouchers to games and some Angels gear, but they’re entered into a drawing for the chance to be an Honorary Bat Kid at a home game! (Membership- $18)

Ticket Specials: AAA members rejoice, as the Angels offer 50% off during select games and seating locations. Senior citizen or uniformed personnel? You too can enjoy 50% off tickets!

Angels Friends & Family Packs: Fantastic option for a family of four or four friends going to the game! Get four seats, four hot dogs, and four small drinks and enjoy the game for only $56.

Oakland Athletics:

A’s Kids Club: This club offers free and discounted tickets, A’s gear, be in the Kids Club parade, and the chance to “steal” third base, be a guest P.A. announcer, be a water kid, or watch batting practice from the field! (Membership- $20)

Dynamic Deals: Every Monday the Athletics release their weekly ticket deals on the website and via Twitter (@Athletics). Find great ticket specials for a variety of seat levels!

Single Game Incentives: The Athletics make going to weekday games worth your while with Free Parking Tuesdays,  $2 Ticket Wednesdays, Throwback Thursdays, and Friday Family Packs. With deals like these, it’s a wonder how they get people to the park on the weekends!

Seattle Mariners:

Seattle Mariners Kids Club: Fans 14 and younger can enjoy up to a dozen $1 ticket vouchers, Mariners gear, and the chance to score autographs and watch batting practice! (Membership- $15)

Ticket Specials:  The Mariners offer many single game ticket specials making going to a game affordable for fans and families- Safeco Insurance Grand Slam Family Package, BECU Family Nights, EQC Military SpecialsSenior Specials,  King’s Court, Special Group Games.

Texas Rangers:

Kinsler’s Kids Reading Club: Ian Kinsler has teamed up with local libraries to encourage reading by offering kids that sign up the chance to attend a Rangers game for $1 a participate in a parade on the field before a selected game (already happened this year, check back next season!). This opportunity is available for fans under 17!

Ticket Specials: The Rangers offer Coca-Cola Total Family Packs that include four tickets, hot dogs, soft drinks, two kids zone wristbands, and one souvenir program- all for $60 or $100 depending on the level. On most Wednesday nights tickets are half off when purchased online at texasrangers.com in Upper Reserved, Upper Box, Lexus Club Terrace, and Lower Reserved sections.

  1. One of the biggest reasons I take my kids to the MiLB games is the cost. These Kids Club prices for the big teams are pretty good, though. Some of the family packs are good deals, too. I’ll have to check this out for the Tigers.
