Alex and I will be going on a short sister’s baseball trip to New York City this weekend to see her favorite Yankee, Hideki Matsui retire in pinstripes during Sunday’s game against the Rays. As soon as I heard the rumors that this game would be his retirement day I went online and purchased tickets. We’re sitting two rows up from center field in the bleachers (so we can partake in Roll Call properly) for only $22! Cheap seats in Yankee Stadium do exist my friends!!

It’s going to be a very short trip as we both have to work Monday, but we couldn’t pass up the chance to see our guy one final time as a Yankee! Here’s a sampling of our love for Hideki over the years:

Alex loves Matsui so much, she went to see him when the A's were in Cleveland!

Don’t worry there will be plenty of pictures and a post dedicated to Hideki Matsui next week! Follow me on Twitter @alicia_barnhart and check out my Instagram @AliciaBarnhart for pictures and updates on Sunday… sure there will be plenty!

  1. That’s cool,
My brother and I are on a baseball trip and were going to go to the same game, but switched to Saturday’s (today’s) game, since Sunday’s tickets were a lot more expensive and I’m not interested in Matsui. Have a great time!
