What’s New in AL Ballparks for 2013 Season

At long last baseball is back… Happy Opening Day everyone! I’m so excited for another year of the best sport in the world! Every season teams make changes and updates to their ballparks so I compiled a list of what’s new for the 2013 season. As we savor baseball’s joyous return, here are some things to look for when you head the AL ballparks:

AL Central

U.S. Cellular Field (White Sox) will have new concessions added. Plenty of new foods like the Winning Ugly Grand Slam and a craft beer location in section 112.

Progressive Field (Indians) will offer lower concession prices and a couple new seating options in the Terrace Club and behind home plate.

Comerica Park (Tigers) added two new picnic areas, concessions, and announced new promotions and events.

Kauffman Stadium (Royals) will be celebrating its 40th anniversary so be on the lookout for celebrations. The club will also continue its Buck O’Neil Legacy Seat program.

Target Field (Twins) has taken out three sections of outfield bleachers to replace it with a casual standing room with drink rails. The Twins also announced some new daily ticket offers.

AL East

Orioles Park at Camden Yards (Orioles) is going smoke free for 2013 and a new plaque was added outside the ballpark to recognize a railroad strike.

Fenway Park (Red Sox) will be offering free kids meals and $5 12 oz beers for the month of April.

Yankee Stadium (Yankees) will have some new items available at concession stands this season.

Tropicana Field (Rays) added some new concessions to the ballpark and will be keeping Man vs. Food size cheeseburger.

Rogers Centre (Blue Jays) center field restaurant, Windows, is losing its windows and will be an open air space for all fans to enjoy.

AL West

Angel Stadium (Angels)

Minute Maid Park (Astros) has a fresh coat of paint and new concessions not to mention new merchandise with the new team colors and logo!

o.co Coliseum (Athletics) added a value deck and a few new affordable concession stands ($5 and less).

Safeco Field (Mariners) will have new outfield dimensions making it more hitter friendly this season.

Rangers Ballpark in Arlington (Rangers) underwent major renovations in the concourse and private club behind home plate over the off-season. Expect a new retail store and new concessions.
